In my dreams you laugh and play,
In dreams I never have to question why,
I had to let you fly away,
Goodbye butterfly,
Your memory is as clear today,
Your beauty none can deny,
Yet we had to let you fly away,
Goodbye butterfly,
Here for just the briefest time,
We're left with tears in our eyes,
Because we had to let you fly away,
Goodbye butterfly,
Our love just couldn't hold you,
Believe me we did try,
We had to let you fly away,

Fly high my darling Angel child,
Among the clouds, up in the sky,
You had to go, to fly away,
