Sadness
By Sandy Drag
In memory of William (Billy) Edward Drag
It seems like just yesterday
That I was waiting to say,
“Welcome to the world little brother”
But yesterday was a better day.

As I stand here today
I wish there was a way
to change yesterday.
I try to understand
Why you left me with
No memories, no laughter
Only sadness.

I miss you little brother;
I miss the happiness you could’ve given me;
I miss the memories you could’ve provided me.
But I have no memories;
I have no happy thoughts;
This brings a tear to my eye
And the sadness starts.

I can’t wait to see you again little brother
Where there is no sadness.
