This poem is dedicated to the memory of Shannon Kay Borgardt who died at birth on April 23, 1996, with holoprosencephaly.

Little angel sent from Heaven one day,
Her little beam of light she shined,
Upon her loved ones who named her Shannon Kay,
Her memory will forever be in their minds.

A little boy named George sits quietly at play,
His smiles and laughter will bring relief,
To Mommy and Daddy over losing sister Shannon Kay,
His hugs and kisses will soothe their grief.
