On Mother’s Day in 2012, I experienced my first miscarriage. So excited to start a family, we had just announced we were pregnant days before. The loss of a baby and all the dreams that came with that were very difficult but we were determained to try again. Later that year, we nervously became preganant again and at our first ultrasound, we were told we were going to lose that baby as well. At that point, I took my health into my own hands and changed drs. I went back to my OB in Minneapolis and she encouraged me to try again with the aid of progesterone. In 2013, I was able to carry Will to 36 weeks. In 2015, Ella came at 33 weeks and in 2017, Kate arrived at 38 weeks. Will’s middle name is Logan, named after our first angel baby and Kate’s middle name is Taylor, named after our 2nd angel baby. Ella’s middle name is simply.. Grace. Our family of 7 is now complete and our kids will grow up knowing their angel siblings in heaven. The Turkey Trot has given us a space to remember them and honor them, for which I am very thankful.
