For my Niece

Time will always heal your pain they say
But my heart keeps breaking day after day
It’s been three years but the tears still flow
I’ll never understand why you had to go

I miss the beauty of your cheeky little grin
And the way we used to dance and spin
I love you more than you’ll ever know
I’ll never understand why you had to go

You will always mean so much to me
You were too good for this Earth you see
Little ladybird I miss you so
I’ll never understand why you had to go
