Arms Lay Empty

Today I cry without you here,
these arms lay empty;
Are you still near?

My love for you will forever be.
Our angel baby fly back to me.

Your time was too brief.
A heartbeat no longer heard.
Disbelief drowns into grief
while the world is undeterred.

I am broken.

Today I cry without you here,
these arms lay empty;
I hold just fear.

The unknowns causing the most pain.
Looking to place blame.
Longing to see your flame.
Aching for your warmth and yet no one can explain.

I never held him
or heard him cry.
I wasn’t ready to say goodbye.

Today I cry without you here,

I miss you dear.

What could have been will no longer be.
