Hey, Little Boy
By Joann Halbgewoks, Ronald's grandmother
In memory of Ronald Joseph Miller-Halgewoks stillborn June 1, 1990, son of Eric Lynn and Sandra Jean
Hey, little boy…Grandma had plans for you and I

We would plant flowers in the spring; chase butterflies
Through the fields; watch clouds making critters in the
Sky and we’d laugh till we cried.

Hey, little boy…Grandma had plans for you and I

We would make chocolate chip cookies; eat dough with
Our fingers; have picnics and parties and wear silly hats.

Hey, little boy…Grandma had plans for you and I

We would read books; laugh at cartoons on tv and
Pretend we were clowns.

Hey, little boy…Grandma had plans for you and I

We would rake leaves in the fall and leap into the
Mounds like puppies at play.

Hey, little boy…Grandma had plans for you and I

In winter we would make angels in the snow; build
Snowmen with smiles; let snowflakes fall on our tongues.

Hey, little boy…Grandma had plans for you and I

But God had plans and he needed you most…
So, I’ll share all my plans with him…

But each flower in spring; each butterfly chased; the
Clouds that are critters; the cookies baked; the picnics
And parties; the books and pretends; the leaves in the
Mound; the snowflakes that fall…will have a special
Memory of what might have been.

Hey, little boy…Grandma loves you.
