For Elizabeth Marie

There was not enough to hold you
but we know that you are rocking in the angel’s
arms
we didn’t hear your first laugh of clam your
fears
but we know that you are safe from harm.

Only one thing eases any pain and helps us
abide
knowing that you’re by His side.

In the time we had you on this earth
a gift from God, blessing divine
you were His from the beginning
ours to love
gone from us before your time.

And with His hands He’ll lift you up,
and in His time we’ll understand
our breaking hearts will still feel His love,
the world is His to command.
