Dear Parent

Your Labor Room Nurse

Dear Parent:

In search of that beating heart
Which is no longer there,
I hear that deafening
Silence of the monitor.
I would like to run away
And not face all of this
But I know you need me and what I must do
I can help you through this time
Please don’t be offended by my tears
Although I have known you only a short while
I feel your loss
I may not know the right words to say
But I hope my compassion will come through,
Please let me help
I know how much this baby meant to you.
