Dear Doctor

Dr. Susan B. Soltis

Dear Doctor,
Someday it may feel safe to tell you
But I can't have you angry at me
Because I need you to help me have another baby.
But, in the meantime
I'd like you to understand
That I feel like you left me All Alone
When I needed you most.
I can understand what it must be like
to stand helplessly by
For I do it myself when it happens to me.
And its interminable recurrence must
Either emphasize the cruelty or
Make it seem mundane, routine.
But it never is to the person
to whom it is happening.
So don't leave me All Alone
